What is Hypnotherapy?
It is hypnosis used as a complementary and alternative therapy to treat a variety of psychological and physical conditions.
How does Hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy with me is hypnosis plus. I am trained in a number of disciplines which enables me to combine techniques in each session to help us get to the root of the problem and treat it, giving you fast and effective results.
Contrary to popular belief, hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep. It does involve the induction of a trance-like condition, but when in it, the person is aware, concentrating entirely on the therapist’s voice. When you relax, your conscious mind (logical side) takes a back seat, and the unconscious part of your mind (creative side) is revealed. It is at this point that the therapist is able to use direct suggestions or imagery to re-programme or re-condition patterns of behaviour in your mind, enabling irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts, and suppressed emotions to be overcome.
As a guide, you can transform your life and feel the benefit of results in just 1 - 4 sessions.
Clinical Hypnotherapy
For my clinical hypnotherapy sessions, I offer hypnosis and other complementary therapies to treat a wide range of issues. These include, but are not limited to:
Face to face appointments are available near Newcastle Airport or, alternatively, online appointments are also available.
Do you suffer from intense and uncontrollable feelings of anxiety, worry and or panic? Is this causing a problem in your life? Well, you are not alone! This is, by far, the most common area I work with.
Want to feel more at ease with yourself and give calm responses to those not so good things that parachute in from time to time? We will work on getting you back in control of your life. In addition to your hypnotherapy sessions, we’ll also kit you up with your ‘toolbox’ of coping strategies.
Below is an example of areas I have worked with extensively over the years.
- General Anxiety
- OCD
- Overthinking
- Negative Thinking
- Worry
- Work related stress
- Worried about a test or exam
Habits are behaviours that are repeated regularly and tend to occur subconsciously. Your life is created by your habits. If you do not control your habits, then they will control you. The most effective way to change a habit is to replace it with something else. Hypnosis is an effective way to help break bad habits and establish new desirable ones.
Here is an example of some of the most common habits I work with.
- Alcohol
- Gambling
- Nail Biting
- Skin Picking
- Blushing
Want to be free of irrational fears?
Want to change how you react when fearful?
We are not born with a fear, we are actually born fearless. Fears are a learned behaviour so the good news is we can unlearn them.
Some of the most common areas I work with are.
- Fear of Flying
- Fear of Driving
- Fear of Heights
- Fear of the Dentist
- Fear of Doctors or Surgery
- Fear of Injections
- Fear of Spiders
- Fear of Mice
Ready to change your outlook on life? Do you want to remove those limiting beliefs that are blocking you from doing the things you really want to do? Let’s take a look at your old beliefs and replace them with new ones.
Here is an example of areas where I have worked with others to achieve their goals.
- Driving
- Exams
- Social Anxiety
- Sports Performance

- Limiting Beliefs

Are you struggling with the loss of someone?

Do you want to feel fitter and healthier?
Example of topics covered.

Did you know that your mind could have been programmed growing up to make sure you clear your plate, irrespective of whether you are hungry or not? Also, your default in your subconscious mind could be to; reward yourself with food or eat when bored. There are many reasons why an individual struggles to control their weight and everyone is different.
I run programmes which run over four sessions. Within the four sessions we unpick your specific habits and then proceed to re-programme them one by one with the help of hypnosis. For more information, take a peek at the Information Sheet attached.
Do you need help with a particular health issue?
Hypnotherapy can also help treat the symptoms of medical conditions where there are psychological factors that influence symptoms.
Here are some examples of areas I work with.
- Insomnia
- Pain management
- IBS Symptoms
- High Blood Pressure
- Cancer Anxiety
- Are you ready to stop smoking?
- Do you want to improve your physical health?
- Do you want to have more energy and improve your taste and smell?
- Do you want extra cash in your pocket?
I run a two session Stop Smoking programme. Ideally the sessions should be within a week of each other. The first session is to discuss your specific smoking habits and prepare you for giving up. The second session is your actual ‘stop’ day. I use hypnosis at both sessions. Doing it this way you are better prepared to give up and more comfortable with the feeling of hypnosis.
Integrated Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT)
Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) allows the client to disassociate from disturbing memories, address identity issues and reduce the intensity of negative emotions. IEMT works on memories and addresses the question “how did this person learn how to feel this way?” IEMT does not work on emotion itself, it works on the memory imprints that are causing the emotion.
The model of IEMT is based on patterns which have continued for a long time and why clients stay stuck. The eye movement techniques and protocol allows the client themselves to accurately measure and assess the changes that are taking place in real time.
IEMT is a content free way of working with client. The IEMT model allows the therapist to remain detached from the client’s story.
The IEMT model addresses both emotional imprints and identity. It can facilitate massive change within a client. IEMT works especially well on anxiety related issues and those surrounding long term complaints such as depression and low self-esteem.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Neuro-Linguistic Programming offers techniques that can be powerful for personal and professional change.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming was developed in the 1970’s by John Grinder and Richard Bandler. Their work was based on studies and observations of excellent communicators. It is both art and science because everyone has a unique style and a unique personality to whatever it is that they do. The science lies in the methods and processes for discovering patterns used by excellent or outstanding individuals.
“Neuro” = neurological processes of the body
“Linguistic” = language
“Programming” = the arrangement of ideas and the actions
What is that person doing, that makes them different from anyone else?
How can someone who is mediocre model patterns of behaviour for someone who is excellent?
If what you are doing is not working, do something else; no change means no change.
