What is Hypnotherapy?

It is hypnosis used as a complementary and alternative therapy to treat a variety of psychological and physical conditions.

How does Hypnotherapy work?

Hypnotherapy with me is hypnosis plus. I am trained in a number of disciplines which enables me to combine techniques in each session to help us get to the root of the problem and treat it, giving you fast and effective results.

Contrary to popular belief, hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep. It does involve the induction of a trance-like condition, but when in it, the person is aware, concentrating entirely on the therapist’s voice. When you relax, your conscious mind (logical side) takes a back seat, and the unconscious part of your mind (creative side) is revealed. It is at this point that the therapist is able to use direct suggestions or imagery to re-programme or re-condition patterns of behaviour in your mind, enabling irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts, and suppressed emotions to be overcome.

As a guide, you can transform your life and feel the benefit of results in just 1 - 4 sessions.

Clinical Hypnotherapy

For my clinical hypnotherapy sessions, I offer hypnosis and other complementary therapies to treat a wide range of issues. These include, but are not limited to:

Face to face appointments are available near Newcastle Airport or, alternatively, online appointments are also available.

Complementary Therapy

Integrated Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT)

Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) allows the client to disassociate from disturbing memories, address identity issues and reduce the intensity of negative emotions. IEMT works on memories and addresses the question “how did this person learn how to feel this way?” IEMT does not work on emotion itself, it works on the memory imprints that are causing the emotion.

The model of IEMT is based on patterns which have continued for a long time and why clients stay stuck. The eye movement techniques and protocol allows the client themselves to accurately measure and assess the changes that are taking place in real time.

IEMT is a content free way of working with client. The IEMT model allows the therapist to remain detached from the client’s story.

The IEMT model addresses both emotional imprints and identity. It can facilitate massive change within a client. IEMT works especially well on anxiety related issues and those surrounding long term complaints such as depression and low self-esteem.

Complementary Therapy

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Neuro-Linguistic Programming offers techniques that can be powerful for personal and professional change.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming was developed in the 1970’s by John Grinder and Richard Bandler. Their work was based on studies and observations of excellent communicators. It is both art and science because everyone has a unique style and a unique personality to whatever it is that they do. The science lies in the methods and processes for discovering patterns used by excellent or outstanding individuals.

“Neuro” = neurological processes of the body
“Linguistic” = language
“Programming” = the arrangement of ideas and the actions

What is that person doing, that makes them different from anyone else?
How can someone who is mediocre model patterns of behaviour for someone who is excellent?

If what you are doing is not working, do something else; no change means no change.
